چکیده
In this study a cobalt(II) complex of quercetin was synthetized in the solid state with general formula Co(C15H9O7)2∙2H2O. The FT-IR, elemental analysis, and UV/Vis methods were used to composition water solution. anti-/pro-oxidant activity Co(II) studied by means spectrophotometric DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), FRAP (ferric reducing antioxidant activity) Trolox oxidation assays. cytotoxicity Co(II)-quercetin HaCat cell lines then established.

متن کاملCYTOTOXIC ACTIVITY OF THYMUS VULGARIS, ACHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM AND THUJA ORIENTALIS ON DIFFERENT GROWING CELL LINES
The cytotoxic activity of ethanolic extracts of Thymus vulgaris, Thuja orientalis and Achillea millefolium was investigated on various growing tumor cell lines. MTT colorimetric assay was used for measuring the inhibition of cell proliferation. All of the three extracts showed a relatively dose-dependent inhibition of proliferation of human breast cancer (SK-Br-3, MDA-MB-435) and leukemia ...
متن کاملComparison of Cytotoxic Activity of Bile on HepG2 and CCRF-CEM Cell Lines: An in Vitro Study
The aim of this study was to examine the effect of crude bile on the human HepG2 and CCRF-CEM cell lines. Cells were exposed to different dilutions of bile. Antiproliferative effects were determined by the cytotoxic MTT assay. Cells undergoing apoptosis were identified by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay. Bile administration resulted in dose-dependent c...
متن کاملPro-oxidant and cytotoxic effects of circulating heme.
Numerous pathologies may involve toxic side effects of free heme and heme-derived iron. Deficiency of the heme-catabolizing enzyme, heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), in both a human patient and transgenic knockout mice leads to an abundance of circulating heme and damage to vascular endothelium. Although heme can be directly cytotoxic, the present investigations examine the possibility that hemoglobin-d...
